The weather forecast was for heavy rain by midday, but we got away with
cloudy but dry
Last
week Pat described this walk led by Jacky and Mike as a new walk called El
Somo. In fact it turned out to be the
walk we know as Bolulla Castle. We have
walked it many times but always enjoy it.
The
sky looks really grey in this photo, but it did not really seem so when we were
walking. As always it is better to be
out and about as long as it is not raining.
As
we started the walk a large cement mixer passed us on the track past where we
had parked the cars. I half expected to
find a scratch when we returned, but in fact there was no damage at all.
Thanks to Mike for this lovely photo, and for confirming that it is
called a Spanish Festoon Butterfly
We arrived at Bolulla Castle at 12.30, which was too early for
lunch. So we had to carry on for another
ten minutes before we could rest and eat
Monday 11 April
Next
week will be Bernia circuit via the forat at the special request of David and
Rosemary. It is some time since we did
this walk and I hope we have good weather to do it justice. Meet at the usual start at 10am
